"So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us..."

(Brandon)

Curse this alarm. Five more minutes of sleep and I'll get up. I promise. Half an hour later? Just getting up. Inhale breakfast and we're out the door. Upon arriving at the school, the gang convened at our den to start another school day.

Our first class today began at 10:00AM so we had just over two hours to burn. Deanna headed off to find a ChinaMobile to refill her "minutes" while Mike, Patty, and I took it easy in the den. We (unsuccessfully) tried to play a variety of music via Youtube, Youku, Souku, and several other sources. We eventually gave up and simply listened to music through Mike's portable speakers. By then, it was nearly time for our weekly dance class. Don't worry, we've already mastered two dances already. In other words, the Bad Luck Bears may need another nickname.

We did our usual warmup by playing ping-pong. Ms. Moy was able to attend this time around and squared off against Patty. Tom and I went at it too. By the end, Tom and I were both hot and tired, all the while in desperate need of water. Our dance instructor collected us and brought us to the studio room. Today we learned a dance that originated from Korea. Our instructor, always energetic, jumped right in. After several run-throughs, the Bears were able to nail down the moves (in order!) and perform for our instructor. We were all unprepared for the song it accompanied however. The song was FAST. When I messed up, it was quite apparent because my arms just started flailing all over the place as if they were made of jelly. Mike did his usual exit by "Bernie'ing" out of the scene. We still had some time before class ended so we proceeded to show Ms. Moy what we learned last class (which she couldn't attend due to scheduling conflicts). Ms. Moy had the gem of the class after trying to perform a (and to her credit, a very difficult) kicking move. We all laughed at our miserable attempt at this dance after a week of minimal practice, especially Mike, who had stitches and fell to the floor in complete mirth.

Lunch was delicious. Uncle WNH prepared a mix of savory and sweet dishes for us. We had not only savory beef and pork chops but also sugar cookies, vanilla wafers, and this crunchy hollow tube with chocolate lining its inside. Delicious! After a very quiet English corner, which hosted only two students today, the Bears went for a quick walk to grab drinks at a new group-favorite shop. While I never get drinks there, I love the shop because it always plays country music. I heard some Tim McGraw while waiting in line, which was quite a welcome listen, and started dancing in place (luckily no one turned around to see me). Worth the trek out there!

We closed off the day by watching Journey To the West. The group badly wanted to see it and we were not disappointed. While it was completely different than what we were expecting, it was a worthwhile watch filled with laughs and cool action scenes. We had it perfectly timed and the Bears soon exited the den to meet up with our host siblings.
