Pandas (finally!)

Elizabeth (Liz)

Quote of the day

        "It's cow stomach"
                       -Iona Steven

The day has come. The moment I have been waiting for. We finally saw pandas and it was sooooo worth it!!! They were so cute!! We saw Pandas climbing trees and rolling around eating bamboo! We even got a chance to see two cubs play with eachother in the Panda Kindergarden! After today it became quite obvious why the animal is regarded so highly in China.

We then headed over to see the red pandas which were also really cute and were more like raccoons but still cute! Afterwards we had lunch and quickly went over to the San Xing Dui site which was a kingdom over 2000 years ago. They found these remains by accident when a farmer dug up some of the relics in his courtyard. Over time the land has been excavated little by little, revealing the lost kingdom bit by bit. Whats even crazier is that no writing has been left by these people so historian have to interpret based whats available; jade daggers, masks and statues. One thing is for sure and that is that birds played a huge role in this kingdom because all the kings had some sort of referrance to birds.

After that we quickly headed back to the hotel to rest for a few minutes and then we went to a nearby shopping mall where we had dinner with Iona's godmother and her godmother's niece, Elaine who was just the sweetest thing. We had dinner at this crazy buffet where we could choose from all sorts of things. Kelby took it upon herself to try all sorts of new things, like cow stomach, which she liked.

Lastly we headed over to a tea house to enjoy some Sichuan Opera which was really cool; we got to see puppetry, singing, comedy, mask changing and fire breathing acts. All of them were amazing and jaw dropping.

Its now about 12 and I am ready to pass out.

Peace out and Pandas!
